Barbier served as lead defense counsel for a large nursing home chain in a False Claims Act lawsuit that was vigorously defended for more than three years. The case was settled for a nominal amount after Barbier won numerous key motions which included: precluding the use of statistical sampling; dismissing more than 60,000 alleged false claims; and dismissing the retaliation claims.
